Option 1 : Sunrise/Sunset at Blea Tarn
Meeting at Blea Tarn Car park we will venture around Blea Tarn where I will show you great places to get compositions, and how to get the best out of your camera. One 2 one personal session. Optional zoom tutorial of how to get the best from your RAW images once you’ve taken them and back home!

Option 2 : Photoshoot on Lingmoor Fell
This Lake District landscape photography workshop takes you up Lingmoor Fell via Side Pike. From the summit, you’ll capture classic views of the Langdale Pikes. You’ll also be encouraged to try new compositions. Along the way, I’ll show you how to adjust your camera settings and techniques to achieve striking landscape photography results.

Photography Workshop - Wast Water
Focusing on iconic sites such as Wastwater, Derwentwater or Blea Tarn, this Lake District photography workshop is a one-to-one personal session. We’ll explore the best locations, where I’ll show you how to create strong compositions and get the most from your camera. This is a practical introduction to landscape photography in the Lake District. An optional Zoom tutorial is also available, where I’ll guide you through editing your RAW files. This post-processing session will help beginners and experienced photographers alike refine their photography skills at home.

Wast Water is one of most popular locations in the Lake District, this area is phenomenal when conditions are right, which get you some cracking compositions, and how to get the best out of your camera. Option 4 : Sunrise/Sunset at Derwentwater, Keswick
You’ll get some stunning views both at sunrise and sunset from the shores of Derwentwater, without any climbing. There are some classic shots that you will be able to capture, but also try new compositions to capture the stunning backdrop of Skiddaw and Blencathra. I will show you how to get the best from your camera as you capture some stunning landscape images

Fast Jets Aviation Workshop

Option One : A morning spotting from vantage points on Thirlmere
Meeting in Grasmere village, this unique photography workshop in Cumbria focuses on capturing fast jets from the best vantage points around Thirlmere. I’ll provide a tutorial on how to photograph aircraft, helping you get sharp and dramatic images. A lens of at least 300mm is required to get the most from this experience. You’ll need to be relatively fit, as it involves some walking. Sightings can’t be guaranteed.

Option Two : A full day spotting at either Thirlmere or Loughrigg
This full-day Lake District photography workshop begins in Grasmere village, where I’ll guide you to prime locations at either Thirlmere or Loughrigg to capture fast jets in action. You’ll learn aviation photography techniques and receive expert guidance on tracking fast-moving subjects. With a 300mm lens or longer, you’ll maximise your chances of capturing breathtaking shots.

Red Squirrel Workshops

Option One : 2 Hours Minimum with Red Squirrels
Join me for a wildlife photography workshop near Penrith, where we’ll spend a minimum of two hours photographing the native red squirrels. The exact location is kept private to protect the animals, in line with advice from the Penrith Red Squirrel Group. You’ll learn how to compose shots, use natural light, and anticipate behaviour to capture photos of wildlife in action. Camouflage clothing is recommended, and a range of lenses will help capture these fascinating creatures at their best.

This workshop combines wildlife photography in Penrith with a Lightroom editing session. We’ll spend two hours photographing red squirrels before moving into a one-hour tutorial where I’ll guide you through editing your images. You’ll learn how to process RAW files, balance shadows and highlights, and develop a smooth workflow. This option is perfect for beginners who want both hands-on fieldwork and post-processing skills in one course.

This specialist bird photography workshop takes place in Kendal, where I’ve spent over 5 years learning the habits of a local kingfisher family. We’ll head to their perching points and work from the best positions. A 600mm lens is essential for this session. This is an advanced workshop for those who want to expand their skills in the field.

This option builds on the Kendal Kingfisher workshop by adding a one-hour Lightroom tutorial. After photographing these beautiful birds, you’ll learn how to process and enhance your shots. I’ll guide you through workflow, colour balancing, and sharpening, ensuring you leave with both stunning images and the editing knowledge to bring them to life. This combined Lake District photography course is designed to help you grow as a wildlife photographer.
